Hay there

Okay, that was cheesy

I literally sat here for 10 minutes thinking of a nice intro title- but turns out I'm just as awkward online as I am in person. Anyways, welcome to my site! I'm an urban equestrian [endurance rider] just doing my thing in Salt Lake City, Utah. You can read a little bit more about me here.

Saddle Salt was born in a bitter state of mind. As a [restless] woman trying to conform to all of society's norms and expectations of my sex and culture- about six years ago I took a mallet to all of that and wrecked everything around me to chase all of my horse-inspired passions. A ton of adventure and beauty came of it, but every year the pieces crumbled a little more until I eventually found myself dusty, broke, and heartbroken. Rock bottom. As I began to pick up the pieces, I had a very strong desire to create something. Something that was my space with a little bit of everything that I loved, to share my story and to connect. Thus, Saddle Salt was born. In its building stages, I was still trying to compete but hitting endless mystery road blocks with my mare.... thus, bitter. But my story continued to unfold and now at the time of this site's launching I am here with much less bitterness and much more curiosity at the mosaic being built before me.

So, Saddle Salt is my experimental platform bundling all of my many visions into one place. Lots of things coming, but for now expect blog posts concerning all things life and horses. I mean to be pretty honest and vulnerable here, which I think some will find distasteful. So if that's you, be warned. Although I know you'll keep reading, because you want that tea. Let's be honest. Nevertheless, I have a strong feeling to share, and why that is I haven't yet discovered. So, make sure your girth is snug, it's gonna be a wild ride.

Welcome to the waterhole

don't be shy... say hi! I created this blog to connect with fellow equestrians. tell me what's up. I'd love to hear from you.
